Hi folks,
Good day to everyone. I have very recently (approx. two weeks back) switched from Windows to Bazzite, and this is my first time using a Linux-based or non-Windows OS. Currently, I am playing only two games on the platform, Genshin Impact via Lutris and DOTA 2 via Steam. While playing DOTA 2, I have been experiencing crashes, which has considerably hindered my gameplay experience. The crashes happen with the game completely freezing, which then requires me to close Steam and then relaunch it to actually get back in the game. I have specifically observed this occurring during or after hero selection, particularly while transitioning from the strategy screen to the pre-game loading screen. However, I have also experienced crashes while in the game as well. Based on suggestions from ProtonDB, I currently use the following launch options: "-sdlaudiodriver pulse -novid." The first two commands are for an audio issue. The other is to remove the DOTA 2 start-up animation. Furthermore, I have observed really poor frame rates of as low as 40 FPS. When the game runs properly, the FPS averages at approximately 120 FPS. If the game crashes a few times, it goes to a validation process in Steam; however, the validation does not happen and stays stuck at 0% for a significant amount of time, preventing me from rejoining matches, thereby leading to abandon and negative consequences. Any help regarding these issues would be greatly appreciated. My system information is as follows:
