I do not have steam on my MACos m4 but when i downloaded the app there was no button next to add game to download steam.

Theoption in Heroic installs an outdated version of Steam because newer versions are not compatible with Apple's Game Porting Toolkit.Install Steam
This means that old version of Steam fails to install some games. If Apple's GPTK fixes it's compatibility with up-to-date versions of Steam this could be changed, but not much can be done.
An alternative is to use the commercial version of Crossover to install the up-to-date Steam which shouldn't have these issues.
Another option is to use https://github.com/Sikarugir-App/Sikarugir
