Trying to do partial setup (CNAME)

I'm trying to set up partial setup (CNAME) for my domain, but Cloudflare is assigning Cloudflare nameservers even though I chose CNAME setup. The domain is stuck in pending status. Can you help configure partial setup so I can keep Microsoft 365 as my DNS provider? I have been able to delete the domain from cloudflare and add again but the problem repeats itself. I'm new to this so any help is appreciated.
