[2021-09-08 12:33:16 PM] : semi-off topic: Is there a “3x500 but for help generating services clients” (?) w/ pain of “I don’t know how I’m going to find my next client”?

[2021-09-04 04:01:59 PM] : for the many of us that do 30x500 alongside a full-time job: how do you squeeze e-bombing time into your weekly schedule?
currently, my strategy is to work on e-bombs solely on weekends (my daily mornings are ritualized as coding time, and i'm too tired in the evenings after work). and maybe leaving saturday or sunday afternoon to get out of the house and do something fun.
what does your schedule look like?...
I reviewed my Detect
[2021-09-04 03:33:49 PM] : I reviewed my Detective Board exercise after I finished the serial killer wall one. What I could see was that now, I see the patterns emerging. Or like Amy says "screaming at me". I think you're right, they are probably serving the same purpose :+1:

[2021-09-02 10:25:22 AM] : Ooo are we talking about designers? Just noticed this conversation. I'm targeting UX researchers, and I'm a content designer myself. Lots of pain in our world. Still working out what to do about it.
Jesper Bylund if you have a blog/newsletter, I'd love a link....

[2021-09-02 08:17:40 AM] : I’ve been noticing over in <#C9BQQFWTC|success-stories> that most (not all!) folks actively getting sales are doing stuff in or tangential to tech. That makes me curious how much of this is selection bias on who’s aware of 30x500 in the first place vs. it possibly being easier to succeed with technical content.

[2021-08-30 01:32:16 AM] : dceddia this is brilliant! I’m shocked by the difference from my own notes.
itamar great implicit pain!
Thank you both! Bit of a wake up call for me. I think I’m trying to look for pain to literally and not really “listening” to what they’re writing. Back to work for me!...

[2021-08-28 10:00:17 AM] : Does anyone have a good framworks or a rule of thumb for when to abandon an audience?
I keep getting the feeling that the audience I’ve picked (product designers for SaaS) are navel gazing online, not really looking for help/expressing pain....

TL;DR:
• I wrote two new articles for profy.dev
• The launch of each article generated some sales
• For the first time I was able to purposefully let an article rank on Google...

[2021-08-18 01:31:26 PM] : and remote vs. in-person is different too. in-person with groups can be great. remote calls with large groups is just a weird dynamic and doesn’t seem to translate to a very worthwhile experience for the people involved
i eventually decided
[2021-08-16 09:11:11 AM] : i eventually decided that i think this is one of those decisions in life that’s an emotional decision and not a rational decision with a “right” answer. i decided that it would be more fun and fulfilling to have a general-programming podcast than just a rails podcast, so i went for it

[2021-08-16 09:08:09 AM] : finally decided to pull the trigger and rename my podcast from rails with jason to code with jason https://www.codewithjason.com/im-renaming-rails-jason-code-jason/

Hey everyone, sorry
[2021-08-14 07:03:28 AM] : Hey everyone, sorry if this is the wrong place, but it looks like my Teachable and Slack accounts for 30x500 use an email address I no longer have access to (I got caught up in the Hey hype). Is there someone in here who can help me change these? I emailed Teachable for help a while ago and got nothing
I avoid "here's how
[2021-08-12 05:18:35 PM] : I avoid "here's how I figured it out" stories mostly because it's usually of no use to the reader

I'm always surprised
[2021-08-04 06:12:56 AM] : I'm always surprised how many unconfirmed subscribers I have on my list!
To your question, if they're interested enough to have expressed interest in the first place then I suspect a gentle email to just nudge them to confirm is probably OK? Especially if it's friendly and welcoming in tone
Others here may have a reason why it's not a good idea though. My default way to try and think through these sorts of things is to try and put myself in the shoes of someone who's filled in a form and then (for whatever reason) not confirmed......
yeah you're also not
[2021-07-29 02:47:53 PM] : yeah you're also not gonna make a decision based on a single data point. there are very few exceptions to the rule of thumb that most professional audiences buy on value by nature of them being professional. if you can find things like books that are reasonably well reviewed, conferences that are reasonably well attended, paid tools that people have opinions on...it's not a leap to conclude that you have a population who buys on value

[2021-07-22 10:48:26 PM] : Who here has created a Golang course or can recommend one?
I'm an experienced engineer, having worked mostly with Elixir, JavaScript and Rust in recent years and now I'm working with a block chain that's primary implementation is written in Go. I want to ramp up quickly and am looking for something to supplement the official docs...
