Star rod wont launch

I have downloaded Java and Star rod and when I go to launch star rod I get A java exception has occured. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BmME1I_T9Pw was using this guide for reference seems simple if the application would launch for me I don't know what is causing it please help 🙂

Need help installing Star Rod/Dark Star

As it says, can someone help me install Star Rod and the Dark Star rom. It's been a long time since I messed with Star Rod and I tried installing it (Version 0.9.1), but when I try to launch it I get a message saying "Java Exception has occurred". I do have the lastest version of Java, so I am mostly at a brick wall at this point.

Help setting up GC Controller on mupen64

Do you have to do anything special to get mupen64 to detect GC controller? Beyond what you'd normally do for dolphin with zadig? I am using an official Nintendo Switch adapter...

Unable to load the patched file

I've tried running regular paper mario on the emulator and it works fine, but after I patch the file for Dark Star, Project64 refuses to run the patched file. I'm wondering what can I do to fix the file?

Master Quest Jr Break point found at .\N64System\Recompiler\x86\x86RecompilerOps.cpp1000

so I beat the game and I'm trying to get through the credits, but it's crashing at this specific frame. I am using savestates to try changing different options and loading back in, but no luck. I'm running this on windows 10 and project 64 2.3.2.202. I did try playing the game with Bizhawk and followed all suggested setup, but it was super laggy and had a bunch of graphical issues, which is why I switched. I am looking at the recompiler settings, but nothing's working there either. I'm not sure what else to check and would greatly appreciate some direction thankaru...

Black Screen on Launch on RetroArch (EmuDeck)

I'm unable to load the MasterQuest mod on my Steam Deck using EmuDeck's RetroArch. Does anyone know if there's a certain setting I need to tweak? The ROM runs on Project64 on PC, and interestingly I can run MasterQuest Junior on the Steam Deck RetroArch setup. I don't think the game is even launching, because I can't pull up the RetroArch menu after attempting to start the game from the FrontEnd....

Does Bizhawk Have a setting for "Fullspeed" Framerate?

This setting exists in Retroarch, and putting it on "Fullspeed" instead of "Original" makes it so hammer/brick blocks don't lag when breaking, and shops don't lag as well. Does anyone know of a setting in Bizhawk that accomplishes the same / a similar thing? I've poked around and I haven't been able to find it, but I may be missing something (I'm using Bizhawk instead of retroarch now because it's required to play the Archipelago version of the pm64 randomizer)...

Hero Mode wrong(?) file location

I keep getting this error when fading out of the prologue screen in TTYD Hero Mode. what did I do wrong? (@Reed if you know what this error is that'd be great)

What do I do if I can't get to the patcher?

I've tried everything I can to use the patch system provided but my connection always times out. I've used all my browsers and disabled my firewall but nothing seems to be working. Is there any other way to patch Paper Mario 64 with the Master Quest Jr hack?

Forcing 60 FPS in Paper Mario?

Hey, thought I'd ask about this since I'm about to set up Paper Mario decomp on my system. How would I go about forcing the game to run at 60 FPS? I'm aware there will be bugs, and a lot of things sped up, but I'm simply looking for an answer on how to just force a 60 FPS cap for now....

Graphic Glitch while i am playing

As I move through the screens the background overlaps the stage and flashes constantly. It does not affect battles or the interiors of houses or stores. Any idea how can i fix it?...

use GLideN64 as your video plugin. that looks like jabo or rice

As someone who has absolutely ZERO experience with mods. Can I get the PMMQ Jr. download link?

When I say zero experience. I mean ZERO experience. This is my very very first time. I have never played a romhack or mod before, let alone download them! And I want to start. I figured Paper Mario: Master Quest JR would be a good start since I played and beaten the original Paper Mario. Would anyone mind lending me a download link?

master quest keeps on crashing

i tryde with project 64 it worked easily but my jump action commands will triger a cras if i use them twice in a battle, i tryde every option back to back but i coudn t make it work. i heard it has problem win 11. And then i tride bizhawk i went really good but i could start the vanila game but osent matter what i do the modded file spit out error massage multiple cores failed load the rom, no matter what i do it will always fail i looked up maybe other talked about this but not . Basicly i could emulate vanilla games thats clear but i couln t able to run the rom hack no matter what i did failed. any advice or help PLS :FeelsRegAllocMan:...

Solution:

Try a different emulator. PM64 mods break when played with PJ64 on Windows 11.

Problem with Star Rod

I've posted this on #modding, but I'm gonna post it here so more people can see it and help. I tried to open the sprite editor and it just doesn't open. It gives me this error: "Failed to create shader SpriteShader null" Other editors work just fine....
