Remapping the Most Useless Key on Linux (Caps Lock)
Let's face it. The Caps Lock key isn't the most useful key on the keyboard. Why not remap it to something better? In this video, I'll show you how to map caps lock to escape, control, super, and more, as well as how to still keep your caps lock functionality if you really want. Now you don't have to reach all the way to the Esc key every time yo...

but capslock is cruise control for cool 😦
Caps:crtl, Ctrl:Esc, Esc:Caps
I've been tempted to try a caps lock ctrl escape switcheroo layer on my keyboard for when I'm using vim
I have a autoHotKey script for when I'm running a normal keeb >.>;; Not having to reach for Esc is nice, I prefer the caps:ctrl swap too cause its more used
Feels good for ctrl+tabs and other combos imo too, you can flip your caps lock keycap if its angled and it makes single press ctrl+shift really easy too
I almost never use caps lock... I'm just not cool enough to need the cruise control.
Also that's one hell of a timer on messages in threads here wow 😄 guess it's just the standard timer to keep people from spamming the resource channel huh
oh its cause resources I think, lemmi see if my noob mod skills can fix
fixed?
Let me check
Nope, five minute timer. I'm heading off for the night
I don't do this because
1. I use esc way more than control
2. I don't really use caps lock like at all so I have it on another layer
I guess you do would use escape more in vim* but you don't need to combo it
i also have caps on a layer, with a normal keeb though having it where esc is makes sense 😄
fair
