I think the main topic is privacy
Sure, discord sends who is talking but definitely not voice data
And I'm pretty sure self deaf does stop you from receiving voice data
If it didn't, what's the point of it?

Anyone with a client modification
Can listen to a convo even when they are deafen
That meaning, the deafen icon appearing to everyone
Nice way to handle this
