LIBGL_DRI3_DISABLE=true in -etc-environment Causes Heroic to reset computer

So i have been trying to get an external monitor to work with my laptop. All settings work except when the laptop lid is closed or the display is set to disabled in Settings > Display and Monitor > Display Configuration, the computer gets very sluggish on the external display. To fix this I found adding LIBGL_DRI3_DISABLE=true to /etc/environment worked. However when I try to open heroic with this enabled my computer resets. This also happens when opening yuzu and when launching a game on lurtis it runs at 1fps. I attached the logs.
