Far cry primal (epic) not installing

As described in the GitHub issue: https://github.com/Heroic-Games-Launcher/HeroicGamesLauncher/issues/2275 The game starts to install and finished immediately but nothing is actually installed.

Thanks. I don't have any issue with other Ubisoft games. Only this specific one and it's about getting through the installation, not launching the game..

that would have made sense, if I used proper reading comprehension try clearing heroic's cache. it is saying it's using cached install info

Ahaha don't worry! I already tried clearing Heroic cache, log out and re-log in etc but no difference so far

What does ~/.var/app/com.heroicgameslauncher.hgl/config/heroic/lib-cache/installedInfo.json contain ?

The file contains all information of installed games Just pass it here ~/.var/app/com.heroicgameslauncher.hgl/config/legendary/installed.json this should also not containing something about far cry

I removed that block of code and saved the file. The game still doesn't install Same behavior as before Install -> finished Maybe I should clear the cache now and try again?

Do you have the game installed still in egs? Maybe it try to sync woth egs

No, I don't even have EGS installed Ah no, actually EGS is still installed but the game is not.

I have no clue why this happen What happens if you run this from console:

/app/bin/heroic/resources/app.asar.unpacked/build/bin/linux/legendary install Larkspur --platform Windows --base-path /run/media/mmcblk0p1/Games/Heroic --skip-dlcs --skip-sdl -y

try with

, it's complaining about legendary not found how did you install heroic? flatpak?

ok, since it's a flatpak you need to move inside the flatpak first, run flatpak run --command=bash com.heroicgameslauncher.hgl, then you should be able to run either the one starting with ~/.var or the one starting with /app

It seems that you need to install it via uplay you actually don't need heroic anymore You could just use lutris and install it via uplay

I have many games on Epic (also from Ubisoft). On the Steam Deck I find Heroic quite convenient to install them and then add them to the Steam Library. You think Lutris is better and can do that as well? I didn't understand it much when I used it some time ago Also in terms of game performance?

Lutris can add to the Steam library in the same way game performance will likely be the same. Lutris has its own wine packages, but they're pretty much all going to be close enough to the same in the end

Then why would you recommend Lutris over Heroic? Only for this specific game?

I have no clue why it does not downlaod But you can just skip epic/heroic and use the uplay launcher

Hi everyone, have the same issue with Elex 2. Wasn't able to install, and logs looks the same as here. Checked with couple of other games, installation is working. (Heroic version 2.5.2) As a workaround installed Epic Games launcher.
