How much time random person will spend to setup everything together, fix bugs only to realize later that it produces terrible non informative FFB full of terrible cogging effects. And that people already once come throu the same path and created good working solution that imediately gives excelent result - kit on BLDC motors. Smooth, powerfull and easy to use

PYou will not convince me. I already come through tone of experiments. You can have fun from whatever you want. I just WARN PEOPLE not to start from DC motors if them want good and smooth working solution. Just start with BLDC. Be smart, and believe those who already throw away ton of money an experiments

but let me tell you that is a PROJECTBModded msffb2 board allowed me to use dc motors but it’s work to mod it and you have to have very very good motors
SOpen ffb board and fino project are basically ready made
BDoes open FFB work with 2 axis controllers tho? Last I checked into open FFB it wasn’t very useful for joysticks
SI have msffb2 also but I havent touched it other then doubling the torque

BTrouble with FFB2 is there is zero anti-cogging so you can only use high end servomotors basically

BI got used Glentek servomotors on ebay and even then it was $300 in motors.

SI was looking at electric power steering motors
BAlso re: the resolution thing, eventually I’m gonna hook the pot outputs up in parallel to the Virpil DIY board in there and get axis output from that hopefully haven’t got around to it
BAlso modifying the board is a pain. If I was doing it today I’d prob do a Walmis DIY kit honestly
SWhy not just swap if with open ffb board or fino
SAnd you can use any encoder or adc with those
SOr even just built in adc you get 12 bit
SIm not sure if the game is going to send the ffb signals if its taking xy position from a different device
SMaybe through joystick gremlin and vjoy then combine the two but it seems like a really big pain in the but

Walmis mentions earlier that he has most of the kits in stock so delay is only a couple of days now.
As a newbie to this I can say that I am enjoying building my own. Even though it is taking a while do to lack of time. There are lots of resources here and elsewhere to help and if Okona gets his gimbal add-on kits going it will be even easier.

SDid you also swap the mosfets
BOh yes. Took me forever to find ones that could handle the current and they gotta be heat sinked
BI wrecked 2 boards before I got it working
BI forget the numbers but I think it’s something like 12x the stock current
BAt least on the pitch axis
