GTA V Launching Error

I tried launching GTA V with the Heroic Games Launcher using Steam Proton 7.0 and i got the following error: Legendary Error: Error launching game: Error: spawn EasyAntiCheat ENOENT at ChildProcess._handle.onexit (node:internal/child_process:283:19) at onErrorNT (node:internal/child_process:478:16) at process.processTicksAndRejections (node:internal/process/task_queues:83:21) This Error does not only occur at GTA V. Can someone help me please? Thanks!

I have a feeling this traceback is longer Anyways, as @arieljuod said, this is something relating to the EAC runtime. I'd recommend sending in a full game log

hmmm weird, I just installed corefonts using winetricks and GTA V just works, I also don't see any reference anywhere for EasyAntiCheat either can you share the game settings from heroic? you mention this happens with other games too, does it happen with all games? also, can you share legendary's config? should be at ~/.config/legendary/config.ini

i actually dont know what else i can do. I tried with different wine and proton versions with EAC runtime and Battleeye runtime enabled and disabled, I even reinstalled heroic but the error still is the same i installed corefonts too but nothing changed btw when i downloaded a game in epic games and just linked the directory to heroic, how can i remove this link in heroic without deinstalling the whole game so that the game still is on my pc in my epic games directory but in heroic it is listet as not installed

you should have an Environment Variables table in the settings and a Wrapper options table, just click the red - buttons and delete them, do that for each game and in the general which is the default that gets added for each new installed game

ah thank u that helped removing the heroic error for but now i got the wine error that something is wrong with my graphics card and if it has the minimum requirements the rockstar games launcher tried start btw but then it abborted starting and gave me this wine error tested with "Wine Default - Wine 7.0.1" btw

it wouldnt be normally.. it would be in the heroic directory like commandmc said, your wine prefix is in a bad place, you should u wine-ge, not default wine

in heroic, wine prefixes are installed into their own directories per game, the game files are stored elsewhere, you can kind of think of them as configuration folders

the default is Games/Heroic/Prefixes/<game name> you should check your general heroic settings to make sure that it points to that Prefixes folder

You can change the amount of download workers in the settings. Other than that, simply throttling to x MB/s is not possible There is currently not a built-in option for that, although you could use Legendary to manually uninstall the game with the --keep-files flag Right, a new game log might be helpful then

then i tried to download proton Ge just to try it but I couldnt download that there was a process on my pc started by heroic that produced downstream in relation with downloading Proton GE but in the heroic GUI the download i started was not shown me as started...i left this process some time alone but the downstream didnt stop and no proton GE was downloaded was this understandable btw when Wine/Proton 8 will be released?

you still have the wrong prefix in the game config "winePrefix": "/home/user/.wine", change that in the game's settings to something like /home/user/Games/Heroic/Prefixes/GTA V (not to confuse with the setting in the general settings that is the default base folder for prefixes)

in linux games are very bleeding edge. you need latest drivers. additionally this isnt windows, and in order to support direct x, which doesnt run in linux, linux has to use fairly new and recent, vulkan. if you didnt set this up, this would be why the game doesnt see direct x

I'd recommend not changing things you don't understand Heroic (or at least the features I've implemented) always assumes that you know more than it (since you're up in the settings & changing stuff, after all). If you don't, you can very easily break things

i moved the Wine-GE-Proton7-35 folder to the following path

this path is written into the GTA V settings and the heroic settings and he gives me the error that he couldnt find wine GE 7-35 because thats not existent in .config/heroic/tools/wine why he does not accept the path i told him i btw restarted the heroic client

also, you have 2 prefix configurations, the one in general settings should be only /home/user/Games/Heroic/Prefixes, the one for the specific GTA game should be /home/user/Games/Heroic/Prefixes/GTA V (of course replace user with your username) the prefix is a place where wine creates an isolated environment for games, the wine prefix is NOT where wine is installed if you installed Wine-GE-Proton7-35 with the Wine Manager option of heroic AND you have all the wine dependencies installed (check the pinned message in #🆘-support ) then wine should exist can you share the complete settings you have for both the general Heroic settings and the specific GTA V settings? I feel like you still have incorrect values

ah ok so i fixed it now ty ok now i tried using vulkan (is installed) and enabled the dxvk option in the gtaV settings and i got a dx 10/ dx11 error. when using wined3d no error appears but vulkan is not used at least i guess that vulkan is not used bcs its kinda laggy and my pc should easy be able to handle the game without any lags

wined3d does not use vulkan. it uses opengl sounds like you still havent set up vulkan properly
