KSP crashes after finishing loading expansion.
Trying out KSP (Kerbal Space Program) as it was free on the Epic Games store, installed Heroic, newest Legendary binary, and newest Proton. The game crashes after "Expansion Loading Complete!" on the initial loading sequence. Heroic is functional after the game crashes. Using Heroic AppImage from the website.

turn off prefer system libs, you dont need it most likely.... you are using lutris wine? any reason why? i would use latest wine-ge.. and since you are on ubuntu have you done the dependencies part of the read me first pinned post?
otherwise this game worked out of the box for me
reduced-jadeOP•3y ago
yea i have done the dependencies ill try using wine ge now
reason is because of the other thread in this forum when you search "kerbal"
xenial-black•3y ago
you may have to delete your prefix if you change wine versions..
reduced-jadeOP•3y ago
and reinstall?
xenial-black•3y ago
no need to reinstall the game
all the config is stored in the prefix and heroic settings.. the game itself is stored elsewhere
reduced-jadeOP•3y ago
all the config is in the appdata in the prefix right
and the game is in ~/.local/share righ
xenial-black•3y ago
the game is wherever you installed it to, the default is Games/Heroic/
looks like thats where it is for you.. but yeah, no need to uninstall or reinstall the game
reduced-jadeOP•3y ago
i did anyways
game still crashes at the same point
i switched to wine ge latest version

oh looks like you have a gpu that doedsnt support vulkan 1.3, which dxvk requires
reduced-jadeOP•3y ago
no gpu at all
xenial-black•3y ago
well you do
its an integrated intel gpu
otherwise you wouldnt have video out
reduced-jadeOP•3y ago
yeah
integrated
so do i need to play without dxvk?
xenial-black•3y ago
you can try but that doesnt always work
reduced-jadeOP•3y ago
how do i disable dxvk
xenial-black•3y ago
just uncheck it in the game options
reduced-jadeOP•3y ago
the autoinstall?
how about vulkan d3d?
xenial-black•3y ago
thats only for dx12, which i dont think ksp supports
reduced-jadeOP•3y ago
yeah it worked
i just switched off the two auto installs
xenial-black•3y ago

if your VGA supports vulkan 1.1 or 1.2 you can try installing an older DXVK 1.x version using winetricks in the game's settings

Fwiw with an up to date Mesa build your igpu should be capable of meeting reqs of DXVK 2.0
That igpu is from a 10th gen Intel cpu
Even my 7th gen cpu igpu is capable of running dxvk 2.0
xenial-black•3y ago
spec sheet said vulkan 1.2
equal-aqua•3y ago
Spec sheets usually reflects what was newest at the time those sheet were created so they basically don't go back and update them.
