Poor performance in GTA V
I'm using wine-ge-proton 7-35 for it and I hardly get 8fps and when I tried proton-ge-proton 7.40 I get No directx found error while launching

your logs say you are using proton-ge.. are these the right logs

best to delete prefixes if you are changing between proton and wine
you also need to enable use dedicated gpu

but a geforce 920m has a chance of not supporting vulkan at all.. so you might be out of luck perf wise

so to be clear, what is the issue you have
in this log it doesnt look like you enabled dxvk, so that would be the first thing to try
and again, enabling dedicated gpu
both are found on the game's settings page
its also best to ensure your nvidia drivers are up to date and the vulkan implementations installed

my issue is that using wine ge i get poor performance and using proton ge doesnt launch the game

but outside of that ... you may not be able to run dxvk 2.0, which is what heroic installs by default, so its a good chance you will have to disable dxvk in heroic and use winetricks to install an older one

%USERPROFILE%\Documents\Rockstar Games\GTA V\ Try going into this directory first in your prefix and see if there is a config file you can play with
Aka set everything to low and lower your resolution as well
Compress it as .tar.xz or gz

@krillxox Did you happened to jump between a lot of Wine-Proton builds on that prefix?

I tried between proton ge wine ge and lutris to check which one's working? As proton ge kept crashing wine gave low fps before and lutris one froze at loading screen

No, just the gta v prefix folder
Go in prefixes folder
Delete GTA V one in it
Do note you will have to reinstall R* Launcher in that prefix or in this case if game does that automatically you will have to wait for it

and i can only access graphics settings before opening story mode
