[exclude_object] does not appear to work

[exclude_object] has (mostly) saved many prints since I started using it on my other printers, but I can’t seem to enable it in RatOS on the V-Minion. I have set it up the same as on both other non-RatRig printers where it works fine. I added [exclude_object] to the printer.cfg and enable_object_processing: True under [file_manager] in mainsail.cfg . I’m slicing the gcode files in the same Cura instance that works for the other printers. The [x] button never appears in the print status panel on the dashboard, so I don’t know if the object processing is not being done, if it’s a UI issue, or something else. What am I missing? Is this intentionally disabled in RatOS? Sorry if this is a common issue; search didn’t seem to show any existing related posts.

Mainsail.cfg isn't used. It's also not where you'd set it (it's not where you set it on your other printers either). It needs to be set in moonraker.conf.

Wow. I don’t know how I got that confused. Moving enable_object_processing to moonraker.conf solved the problem. Thanks for pointing that out! Is there a reason exclude_object is disabled by default? I find it super helpful, and I think the UI is reasonable for a beginner. Is it just too new in Klipper to really be tested and deployed yet?

Yeah it uses a lot of resources, so it's disabled for the sake of older pi's. It's a super nice feature, but it's a double edged sword

Ah, that makes sense

I'm not sure it even works on a zero two or pi 3a without stalling

Yeah, I can see why you wouldn’t want that “out of the box”. Thanks for the explanation!
