Crysis 1 on Linux
I'm trying to get Crysis running but it doesnt even start. When I push the start button it seems to start running but only for a second or so before shutting off again. Switching to different wine versions doesnt work.

change your runner to Wine-GE, not Wine for Lutris

@Ojmt Please report back if you get it working. I was not able to get it working (though Crysis Warhead worked fine), so I'd be curious to know what you did.

is there an alternative exe that could be used? I see it's trying to run CrysisLauncher, maybe there's some way to skip the launcher

looks like you need to install vcrun2005, d3dx10_43 and dedcompiler_43 via winetricks
then maybe set the alt exe to be

Its the only thing that worked for me. It seemed like heroic games had some problems of its own though, so maybe thats what botched the other stuff.

Heroic does not automatically install dependencies, which leads to games not launching

Well it finally works and thats what counts for me. That and not having performance issues.
My motivation to try and make it work different even though it works perfectly fine is... limited.

you may want to try a wine-ge-proton7 version too (I think 7-34 is the latest of those)

I think 7-33 is one of the versions I tried.
43 is newest, I'll try that
No change, I think it's possible I screwed up my prefix trying to install prerequisites. I'm gonna clear it and retry setting it up, lmk if you have any other suggestions though.

which pre requisites have you tried installing?
I'd do this:
- delete this folder
/home/kari/Games/Heroic/Prefixes/default/Crysis
- then install vcrun2005, d3dx10_43 and d3dcompiler_43 using winetricks
- then try running the game

I didn't have a prefix before, and I did install those components. I accidentally tried running the game in the middle of instalation which mightve broken the prefix, so I'm trying again.
