WWZ with vulkan starts with a blank screen
The audio works fine the issue is just with the screen and vulkan.
The game renders ok with DX11 tho.
Changing (from DX11 to Vulkan) it on the settings and opening the game again creates this issue

Try Proton 7.0 or GE-Proton instead of Experimental

Tried Both GE-Proton and 7.0. Same result...

alright, might need to delete the prefix and try Wine-GE instead
there's nothing in the log that would indicate why it's not working
foreign-sapphireOP•3y ago
I know... I mean like I mentioned the issue is that I cannot see anything. The audio and input works (because I can hear the game when I press buttons)
How can I delete the prefix? Simply deleting the folder?
Tried deleting the folder and making it create a new one with Wine-GE but the issue remains...
Is there a way I can debug this deeper?
Update, GE has a better log:

It still fails but I think radv: Can't open file: '/tmp/radv_vrs.b5ZYChiM'. is the error?
genetic-orange•3y ago
Wine-GE would have even better logs than GE-Proton

Can you just drop log txt's here instead of using pastebin?
Also yes, on Proton unless you
PROTON_LOG=1
env variable there won't be any meaningful outputforeign-sapphireOP•3y ago

I'm out of ideas for now. When I played WWZ half a year ago, Vulkan worked fine on my Deck without any tinkering that I can recall
optimistic-gold•3y ago
I see this message in the logs when I try to run WWZ with Vulkan
it looks like something is not supported
foreign-sapphireOP•3y ago
mmm what could It be? I simply changed the the renderer from dx11 to vulkan
and it's the steam deck so I would think other users could replicate this
optimistic-gold•3y ago
it happens for me also on linux mint on desktop
I don't think there's anything we can do, seems like the game needs something that wine has not implemented
quickest-silver•3y ago
Is this same on both deck and desktop?
Preferably on a NV gpu also?
genetic-orange•3y ago
Nvidia 3080ti, Vulkan API

genetic-orange•3y ago
the game builds the shader cache for you 😄
quickest-silver•3y ago
👍So radv is busted
genetic-orange•3y ago
I'm getting those too
00d0:fixme:vulkan:wine_vkCreateBuffer Support for allocation callbacks not implemented yet

I swear I also played it on my Deck, but that was a really long time ago
and my Deck is out for RMA, so I can't test now, and that bothers me hah
optimistic-gold•3y ago
my desktop is AMD, I haven't tried on the deck
quickest-silver•3y ago
Well, it seems to work on NV so you guys should report it in Mesa tracker

not sure if it can help but try with ESYNC and FSYNC enabled. This could be some threading issue
those are the only differences excluding GPU
quickest-silver•3y ago
I'm in favor of mark this as solved as it is most likely a driver issue and it is up to you people to report it or not. By the silence i take you won't do it but oh well 🐸
optimistic-gold•3y ago
I don't really play this game, I was just testing it haha
I'll mark it as unsolvable
