You'll want to install physx and d3dcompiler_47 into the prefix. After that the game should run. I wasn't able to get the opening video to play, though.

here is the complete list of dependencies
DirectX, MSVC2005, MSVC2005_x64, MSVC2008, MSVC2008_x64, PHYSXLEGACY
all are available in
__redist
folder in game directory. You can use Run Exe in Prefix

ok, i just did that and now at least something visible happens: a short blackscreen, lol. Could it have something to do with the
[S_API] SteamAPI_Init(): SteamAPI_IsSteamRunning() did not locate a running instance of Steam.

it's not related
add
PROTON_LOG=1
environment variable
that will make proton dump the log to this /home/deck/.var/app/com.heroicgameslauncher.hgl
directory
send that log here
you can also try installing d3dcompiler_47

found these two logs after adding the env. Will try the winetrick next (completely missed that befor)

If it's your first time playing you may want to watch the intro video on YouTube or something. It... doesn't exactly explain a lot, mind you, but it's pretty.
