Alien Breed Impact not running on Steam Deck
Trying to run my GOG version of Alien Breed Impact on the Heroic Games launcher in my steam deck. Used multiple Protons including Experimental, 7.0 and custom GE 7-47. Even tried an older 5.4 version. All have the same problem: The game does not run at all.
Every time I click "Play Now" it holds on playing and just reverts back to Play Now again and just never runs the game at all. Log is attached as TXT file. Any help would be greatly appreciated 🙂

Try running the game with Wine-GE (downloaded from the Wine Manager). Proton's logs are basically nonexistent

I have a similar problem running (or trying to run) this game under Manjaro Linux. I tried again with Wine-GE and got the attached log

you need to install physx using winetricks
that error with the
Language stuff only happens once when the prefix is updated, if you run the game again that error should be gone (it's going to be fixed in the next heroic release, the fix is already in the code)ugly-tan•2y ago
