How can i change language to Fallout 3?
I've installed Fallout 3 GOTY from Epic Games. I want to change the language from english to italian but canging the language from ini files dosen't work
I'm writing this here because I notice that in the game folder I've notice that files necessary for the game are only in the folder "Fallout 3 GOTY English" and not every other language folder like "Fallout 3 GOTY Italian" even if both have "Data" folder inside. So I'm wondering if the language of the game depends on Epic Games/Heroic download and how I've to do to have Italian subtitles

You don't wanna do it in the ini file. Go to the game page in heroic and go to settings. Either in the main settings or in the 'Other' section, there will be a spot where it asks for a two letter language input(i.e ja for Japanese, en for English etc). In there you will type "it"(without the quotes) in there to get Italian. I've personally never used the feature so I don't know if the game will be redownloaded or if you'll have to reinstall the game but once you do that, you should have the French version installed. Hope this helps!
Meant to say it'll change it to Italian! Sorry about the typo!

the language setting does not need a reinstall or download of anything extra (fallout from epic just downloads all the languages by default), one thing to keep in mind is that this setting doesn't always work (it's game dependent, some games do not support this) so maybe it does work, maybe it doesn't

I've already tried and it dosen't work

what some people do (I don't know if it works) is to delete the languages you don't want and it seems to pick the one that is available (maybe try moving those folders out instead of deleting them just in case it doesn't work)

Now I've noticed that the other languages folders have no files, only directory, unlike the english one that has video, music, shaders ecc... files
I tried and the game crashes, surely because there are no files like I've explained above

I tried installing the game, seems like the language files are completely missing during installation already
oh I see, something changed in Legendary and we are not handling that properly, we should be showing
selective downloads
to turn on the languages you want to download with the game but we are not doing that in heroic
try this:
- first uninstall fallout 3
- go to settings > logs in the heroic, at the top of the log you should have the Legendary path
- open a terminal and run /your/path/to/legendary install adeae8bbfc94427db57c7dfecce3f1d4
- it will give you the options to install italian, install the game (you have to type it
when it prompts you)
- after the installation is complete, click the refresh icon at the top right of the library, that should make fallout appear as installed in heroic
- then you should be able to try the language settings in heroic or changing the config files manuallynational-goldOP•3y ago
IT WORKED! Thank you! Modify config files was not necessary
