Unable to Connect to MCU

PLEASE HELP? Still unable to connect to MCU. I've worked thru blacksmithforlife us's FAQ on the subject, and corrected two issues: 1.) removed MCU Power Jumper. 2.) Replaced the "power only" USB cable with brand-new data-type USB-C cable. Also tried disconnecting everything (except power and USB-C) from the Octopus. When I SSH into the Pi from another computer, disconnect the Octopus, run dmesg -w, and plug the USB-C back into the Octopus, the only error message I get is "MCU unable to connect.". Thank you for your help.
