(Steam Deck) Outriders from Epic Game store complains about Steam Client not being signed in.

I previously had Outriders installed on my Steam Deck from the Epic Game store and it ran reasonably well... I've recently fitted a 1Tb SSD to my Deck and reinstalled Heroic from the Discover application (so, flatpak) and then used it to install Outriders. When launching the game, I get a wine dialog box popping up saying "Steam client is logged in without privileges. it is required. exiting" ... and it returns me to the Heroic window. I can see on searches that this was a thing when Outriders originally launched but the suggested fixes are 1: running as a Windows Administrator, 2: Disabling Windows client firewall... neither of which are possible or should be an issue on my Deck, right? This was working on my old install a few days ago (which yes, I'm now wishing I'd backed up rather than choosing to reinstall) so I don't believe there's an issue with the game on linux... but I'm not really sure where to start looking as my google-fu is failing me. Any help is appreciated.

try not using proton but Wine-GE with DXVK and vkd3d enabled also send in the complete log

So far I've removed and reinstalled Heroic, I've deleted the prefix folder for Outriders and allowed it to be recreated and removed and reinstalled Wine-GE-Proton7-38 ... I've also enabled Auto Install / Update on DXVK and VKD3D within the game settings... still the same error.

try enabling EOS overlay, maybe steam error is just generic one for not being able to connect to those services

Sadly no luck. Same error... and the log looks identical. I had the game working when installed via Lutris, but the cutscenes / intros wouldn't playback properly... and I remember this is why I installed it via Heroic last time... I just can't remember if I needed to tweak anything else.

maybe check with flatseal if heroic's permissions are not correct (there's a reset button in flatseal interface to reset the permissions just in case)

Thanks... I've just tried that, and it's not changed the outcome. Weirdly, I've installed EPIC Game store via Lutris and moved the game files over to that install, and now that's not working either. Does Heroic Launcher use the ~/.wine folder at all? Or is it all held under ~/Games/Heroic by default?

it's ~/Games/Heroic/Prefixes/Game Name usually
