Preview picture of exported pieces as saved models

Biggest challenge right now with stamped models is you have to click on the item and wait for it to load to view it. Because we can not name them, many are difficult to find especially if you have a long list. If there was a preview picture of the model, it would be really helpful because you wouldn’t have to wait for the model to load. I’m thinking as more people use the Api, this feature will be helpful because the artists can create stamps to use again in other pieces.

"Stamped Models"? Is the "Save selected strokes to model catalog" in experimental mode? If so - this is going to be completely replaced with "save selection" - which will save the selected strokes etc as a new sketch. Along with "merge strokes" that will allow similar functionality without the current drawbacks.

Yes save selection as. That would be awesome. A preview pic would make things easier to catalog without the load time issue to preview them.

@captainxap is working on a revamp of sketch loading which will help as we need to allow some separation of "whole sketches" and "partial sketches" to stop the list being totally unwieldy. That and renaming of sketch files. I don't expect ""Save selected strokes to model catalog" to be retained once this is in place so assume it's soon to be retired.

Ok but there will be some sort of alternative?

er. yes! What I just said "Save selection to new sketch" will replace "Save selected strokes to model catalog".

Awesome thanks was just going to ask you what it would be referred to

But they will be "real" brush strokes instead of the non-editable meshes that "Save selected strokes to model catalog" creates.

This sounds like a really good solution
