Obligatory question first: Is this a normal, un-modified installation of Windows 10 or 11?

If you installed Heroic using its own installer, "%LOCALAPPDATA%\Programs\heroic\Heroic.exe" is the command to run

Definitely no. Fortnite is a game, Heroic is a game launcher that can integrate with Epic Games download server. Epic Games published Fortnite. You don't need Fortnite to use Heroic like you don't need Snapchat to use an iPhone. As a whole, it seems like you had installed Heroic, but then moved its files around. The initial error is because desktop shortcuts are just a sign to windows that says, "go to such and such a place and open the file there." Usually the file is a program. But, if the file is moved, and the shortcut isn't changed, it's like someone gave you written directions to a store, but then later that store branch closed. When you clicked the shortcut, Windows tried to follow the directions, but then Heroic.exe wasn't there anymore.

Feels like he should use the original launcher instead heroic. No pc knowledge at all. Just my opinion.
