Try the huey and/or any warbird first once you test it out. You'll instantly fall in love again (cus you'll probably fall in love with the unboxing ) then try the F5/mirage F1 next
FYI, I got my Rhino months ago (#37). FEDEX just sent me a bill for $35 labeled 'duty tax'. Is this really a thing? Did everyone else here get this? Or is FEDEX joining the rest of the corporate profiteers?
Huh, where are you based? Outside EU? FedEx brings US to mind. It's possible FedEx paid customs fee or something like that on your behalf and you got the notice only now.
I'm really curious how do you not get your left leg calf caught when that gear moves? I'm on the fence here with this, I just need to think up a little bit of safety to cover up the two moving gears bc i have to have it similar to this as well.
(also worth noting -- normally my feet are extended further out cause of pedals, also i intentionally angled them inwards a bit more to show a more extreme situation, and it's still not even close to being an issue -- maaaybe if you had extremely baggy pants or something)
not sure how clear it is -- but it's pretty out of the way from my pants, also, the large gear doesn't actually rotate that far on a full forward/backwards deflection
i'll be honest tho -- when i initially ordered this, i did have concerns about how it might fit on the chair, and i was worried i would have to build something custom, turns out none of that was required and it's worked like a charm
currently my warthog joystick base is clamped to my desk and then goes between my legs, I don't have a chair cutout, so for me with my current chair I'd need to replace it.
i will say -- given how far the throw is -- and even angled in as far as it is here -- the stick fully forward is actually pretty far out in front of me, and i'm taller. So with no cutout, something to keep in mind -- that forward throw might require you leaning forward unless you limit it or use an extension that bends backwards a bit
took some creativity with the parts to create the mount for this -- and i probably mixed and matched some parts from the various addons i had -- so it's not a guarantee that ordering this chair by itself will have all you need to mount the rhino
interesting okay, yea only thing is i'm planning on building a 6DOF motion simulator rig with this whole thing so I need to get that cutout in the middle and the cutouts in the top of shoulders of the chair so that I can fit restraint seat belt system in it
