NI don’t think “overheating” is necessarily the right term, but the reviewer mentions heat protection measures when it hit 50 degrees

Poh, sorry just miss read, that's funny I've played IL2 for a good few hours before & had no trouble, DCS lately has just been training missions though doing those for a good couple hrs at a time I never even heard the fans kick in very loud, or at all really, got a link?
Ado note that by the time you reach that point you will probably feel like you've been wrestling with the plane
Ait's also one of the compromises FFB sticks all tend to make
NYep, it was a stress test for the purpose of overheating it, but my concern is primarily that I would be using it less intensely but for multiple hours at a time

NYou should definitely consider a similar video on some DCS modules if you do use those
Pwell like I mentioned above I can say that I've used it for maybe upto 3hrs on IL2 hard to say how much on DCS lately but a lot of training missions for at least 2 - 3 hrs I've only seen temps at 34*
NProbably shouldn’t be too bad then, my room tends to be a little too cold anyways

Aone thing with overheating is that planes tend to run out of either fuel or energy or both fairly quickly in a dogfight so you won't be yanking on the stick for hours
Aalso if you're so inclined, the Rhino allows you to cheat by giving you a trim on all planes
Aso for example you don't have to fight the DR1 all the way to the stratosphere
PI'm not sure how it would work with power draw & basically every other aspect, but I wonder if extra fans or larger fans could be used in over heating was a problem?
Athere's probably also space considerations in how big fans and cooling holes you can have in the Rhino base

Aanyway all of my experiences are basically extended initial impressions so I'm not going to recommend anything yet
AI don't for example really know how much of an issue the overheating is actually going to be
AThe Rhino just has so many answers to so many of the problems I've personally had with other controllers that I'm very impressed so far
PAlso with it's adapters the Rhino can work with any grip from TM, Virpil, Winwing & VKB, so you don't need to buy the expensive bases if you wish to get a grip from another company
NI wouldn’t sign up for the waiting list without being 100% certain I will buy it when the offer comes, but it seems to be a long wait
NI have the MCGU right now and I’m super happy with it, if I was able to stick with that I definitely would
Awell that vid of mine is with MCGU as it's my favorite grip of all time

AI did test the mongoos as well as the MCGU, frankly didn't bother with TM stuffs
Poh yeah I have the same grip & tbh it's really the only grip you need, apart from a few funky grips for heli's the MCGU can cover anything, so that & the Rhino you're set, you'll never need another base &/or grip again really, well unless you want something for the f16 like WW MFSSB & it's grip
