[Legendary] Download Finisher Is Broken
Yeah. So I've been trying to download GTA V for quite a few days now, my internet connection is really slow, but really the only thing that should affect is the fact that deleting the already downloaded game files is a bad idea. Anyway.
I just rebooted my system (Arch, if anything), because of a wifi network bug, and now the game (that was successfully downloading before) does not fit its last 15 GB of data into 50 free GB on the Thickie drive, claiming there is not enough disk space on that. Unlike that one macOS issue, there actually is enough space on the partition. The drive is NTFS, and there have been times it has gone read only thanks to Microsoft, but this isn't one of them. Heroic's log is silent about where there's not enough space. Legendary's logfile (pointed to in the Heroic's log) incorrectly assumes that the game itself is not even downloaded, so it does not count 90 GB of game stuff as game stuff and tries to calculate space for the entire game. Again.

Although i did find enough random stuff left over on my system to free up the necessary space, this might become an issue for people who can not do so - for example, for those who install GTA V (a 108 GB game) on a 120GB external drive. With an internet connection as bad as mine, its either eternal pain and suffering - or one simple check in Legendary before the space requirements check.
actually it seems even deeper than that

we have one problem in heroic that we show a % based on the previously downloaded size but not in the actual complete finished files, so when Legendary resumes the download with previously downloaded content it first validates that the files are complete and downloaded correctly, that file you mention probably was corrupted so it has to download it again
I've been planning to fix the % we show in heroic for a while now to use the % reported by legendary when a download is going to be resumed instead but I haven't had time
if you run legendary directly to install the game it will show you the actual value it has to download because it runs that check
if you think the file is downloaded correctly the first time and legendary is re-downloading it incorrectly you should probably report that to the legendary repo/discord instead
