Launching Halo results in Error saying DX9 not installed. Installing DX9 says newer is already on.
Hello,
I am pretty much noob, but have tried to research and search as best I could.
I am trying to run Halo Combat Evolved, from 2004 on my SteamDeck. Its the same copy Ive used in Windows for many many years, and is patched for No CD launch.
When copying it over to SteamDeck, and using either Lutris or Heroic, I get the same results.
The game launches, and then tells me it cant continue because game requires DX 9.0b. From what I can tell, the Wine package has DX9 already installed. If I try to install DX9 from the Halo install CD, it tells me it cannot continue because a newer version of DirectX is already installed.
Im using Proton 7-53.
Is there a different proton I should be using?
