Heroic removed the entire folder I use for storing games during an uninstall
I store all my games from Heroic on a second drive (mounted at
/media/games
), in a folder named Heroic
. Just now, I attempted to uninstall The Silent Age, and after like 30 seconds it hung and GNOME gave me the not responding popup. I waited another minute or so and then just force quit it, and I reopened Heroic to all of my installed games appearing as "Not available".
Upon further investigation, the entire Heroic
folder on /media/games
is just gone now. Has this ever been seen before, and is there any way for me to retrieve logs from that launch now that I've restarted it a few times?

I realize the losses here are small but in another situation this could've caused much bigger data loss so I'd like to make sure this can't happen to anyone else.

I have litterally never seen this happen
I will try reproducing though

hmmmm I think we've had one report of this on github but even the user reporting it couldn't reproduce it anymore
we thing we could do is to check if the folder we are about to delete is the same as the base install folder and prevent that from happening
not sure what's the cause but we could maybe have some preventive action there

SO. I, too, am running into this problem, trying to get Age of Wonders Planetfall to work and failing miserably.
If it helps, I'm using the Flatpak version, on Linux Mint 21; what other information would help you figure this out?
A follow-up, in case anyone's still watching this: Got frustrated, tried Lutris for a few hours (not directly relevant), got even more frustrated with that, then came back to Heroic, this time installing the deb package.
Running Heroic from the deb package install, I don't have the above problem, the uninstall function works the way I expect it to. So it seems to be an issue in the Flatpak build, from my limited observations?

Okay, no, it happened again. This time after removing Myst IV Revelation and Myst III Exile. Attaching the logs around the uninstall and afterward
