GTA V not starting up in heroic launcher (Void Linux)

i get this error: Failed to open /etc/machine-id, error No such file or directory.

Did you try Wine-GE-Proton instead of Proton-GE-Proton? The latter is less likely to work and should only be used when running games through Steam.

anyways there you go, middle click always works and you don't need openal anymore so remove anything related to it

the GE link involves using apt-key for Ubuntu which last time I tried that, it was saying that command is deprecated

yeah because the section for installing wine-staging on ubuntu is outdated so maybe it is a little more out of date
