Frog TKL FR4 Plate Sits on Top of USB-C Port

Hello, I was building a Frog TKL yesterday with an FR4 plate and an Apollo 87H PCB, but I noticed that the FR4 plate seems to sit on top of the USB-C port on the PCB, making it somewhat uneven with the PCB. Is this expected, or is there something I'm supposed to do to fix it?
