XCOM 2 - Cannot move characters
Probably a lost cause but maybe someone figured smth out. Bascially on linux (linux mint 21) if i start XCOM 2 i cannot move the characters,, i have tried both proton-GE and WINE-GE neither worked, i did add
-nostartupmovies -allowconsole as game arguements, TTC didnt work either. I don't have WoTC DLC which supposedly fixes a ton of bugs. Anyone have any ideas? Is there even anything i can do?
Edit: should probably mention, i own the epic games version (idk if theres a gog version, but still)5 Replies
Open up the game settings, click the "Run EXE on prefix" button and select
<path to game install path>/Binaries/PreReqRedist/XCom2Installer.exe. I'm not sure if you get any feedback here (as in, if an installer window opens), you might just have to check on the process in your task manager

same issue here, the best would be play the native game on steam
I- what? Running this one executable in the prefix will make it work, I've tested it myself back when the game was free just now

@CommandMC I cant find that binary path on xcom2 in the GoG version I do have the WoTC DLC
fixed this by pointing wine directly to the xcom 2 WOTC exe, it wasnt loading WOTC either
it should be on
<path to game install>/XCom2-WarOfTheChosen/Binaries/XCom2.exe
