What are some ways to display lines between two divs to show mapping or connections.

I see, is there any good documentation’s to go about this I want to make it so that let’s say you click a container, a line will then be created and expand based on the mouse position. The second on click will then solidify that line. I just don’t know if i make it so the svg covers the entire ui or make mini svgs for each of those lines I’m running into multiple problems like being unable to click the actual UI since to cover the ui i need to make the svg position absolute
