Take a look at a cheap pixel or Samsung make sure it's got at least 3 maybe 4gb of ram that way you guarantee the game will run well

You can also head for second hand androids or cheap supermarket ones (check specs first)
I'd say pixel is the best to go, aim for 4gb+ ram, if the phone is requesting an update to android 11, 12 or 13 I don't recommend doing it because these android versions do have some problems

For starters, download pgsharp on it and start spoofing on an alt to get used to spoofing rules
Read #📱│cooldown-softban-rules
Research on how to root your phone in the mean time then use pokemod and follow the spoofing rules
Your account should be almost 100% safe
While using iOS will make it atbest 10% safe and pgsharp maybe 60%

You do need a computer to root.

Ofc OnePlus 7 pro is great for pokemon go
Anything above 6 should not ever give lag in pogo
Unless device is too old hence the problem
