GAME ISSUE: Fallguys showing me that it misses files though I installed everything correctly?

It's just as in the title but what could be that cause of such a problem?

Flatseal is probably the easiest option, although you can also use the Flatpak command line

Flatseal is available on Flathub, install it the same way you've installed Heroic

You open it, you select Heroic, and you give it access to the directory you moved the game into

- Remove the alternative EXE from the settings - Try to start the game, send in a game log if it still doesn't work (these Wine crash dumps are mostly useless)

it verifies epic game dependencies rn wait nope still missing files but I can boot into the game I can boot into the game but I still get that issue but why I run it on a prefix and not it even boots and I also selected the right RunFallGuys.exe file

Well, it might surprise you, but I cannot magically tell you what's wrong with no information

send in a game log if it still doesn't work

You don't need to select RunFallGuys.exe anymore, that's the default now. That's why removing the override worked

Right, there's (at least part of) your issue On the game page, select the 3-dot menu in the top-right, then click "Change Install Path". Select your actual game install folder there

Paths don't automatically get updated just because Heroic now has the permission to access one, they'll stay as their /run/user/... path until you manually re-select where they were pointing to

Fedora Linux or a heavily modded version of it called Nobara quick question if you were able to reproduce this issue...ehm do you also know a fix or are you working on it sry if I'm asking again

Wine version should be unrelated, at least I've had the game running on Wine-GE 8-7 before

I had this issue as well Also was using nobara Couldn’t troubleshoot it no matter what Just ended up installing a debloated windows onto a separate drive

nah that didn't do the charm bro sry it installed the vc runtime but still it won't let me inside the game since "files are missing"

I am using Fedora Kinoite. I also ran those instructions like 4 times from fresh prefixes. now that RunFallGuys.exe is automatically set, the only thing that needs to be done is running the EOS installer and to not use the one that comes with Heroic

am I doing it wrong the EOS installer? tell me I click on RUN EXE ON PREFIX and then click on EpicOnlineServiceInstaller.exe the rest is the same

@termdisc I assume you're not getting those Stack Overflows in the logs? (sidenote: "to not use the one that comes with Heroic" - Heroic installs the EOS Overlay, not the EOS (Windows Service) as a whole)

@king in yellow @Deleted User @Deleted User People over on GE's discord have shared this workaround with me: Do all the normal steps (running the EOS installer, overriding the EXE if necessary) but cancel the EOS installer that you see after the two VCRuntime installers are done (if you already installed EOS before, delete your Wineprefix to "start fresh")

Oh yeah vcrun fails to install on wine I never noticed the cancel button If I did I would have clicked it for sure

I also get it to work really weird workaround I had to delete the folder where I installed the game in and reinstall in another give it access and then cancel the 2nd step of the EOS thingy

oh lemme try because I don't want to keep pressing cancel if I miss it one time, I have to start the whole thing over which sucks nope it says missing files that way dang it I missed the cancel button once and now it doesn't work I think order of execution is this

Check what folder you've configured as your Wineprefix in the Game Settings, delete that folder (not just its contents)

so i got the game working 1 install the game 2 make the eos and anticheat on 3 open game 4 exit and delete the prefix 5 open the game again 6 when u see this press cancel emeadtly 7 voila enjoy ur game freshly tested 4 min ago
