xdg-open not working in Chrome/ Ubuntu to open VS Code from a Workspace

Not directly a Coder problem, but maybe someone can help me.

For some reason clicking on the "VS Code Desktop" button in Chrome (on Ubuntu 22.04) no longer is working. I clicked on the xdg-open dialog, but nothing happened. I tested it in Firefox and the button opens VS Code properly.

Does anyone know how to fix this issue? Googling it didn't get me to a resolution.
