Using Immich as a media viewer only

First of all, this is a lovely project and I'd like to say thanks for bringing this to life.
I'm considering setting up Immich in my home server and I have a usage question.
I understand Immich isn't really designed to be a media viewer per-se as its main functionality is to back-up existing media, however, I was wondering if it is possible to successfully set it up as a media viewer (like PhotoPrism for example) only - with the backup functionality disabled.
There are a couple of characteristics of Immich that make it really attractive for this purpose:
1. ML features to help sort and find content
2. Media searchability
3. "Native" mobile applications with lovely (imo) design - currently using PhotoPrism which only provides a clunky PWA.
Is this something that is supported by the software? If so, what (if anything) would I need to change in the deployment?
I'm planning on using Docker compose to deploy the service.
