First layer calibration not working properly?
I have been trying to fix my first layer, but have been having trouble dealing with what seems to be a non flat surface.
My bed mesh isn't great, but I would expect it to compensate better than this?

That doesn't look like it's from a non flat bed. Just looks like poor adhesion. Have you cleaned the bed with soap and water?

I used IPA but ill try with soap and water
If you have too much grease or anything the IPA will just smear it. You should clean with soap and water first, dry it, then wipe down with IPA

that helped a fair bit

I'm having trouble properly balancing EM and offset
any advice
Yeah, you are over extruding or too close to the bed

ok, ill try raising it a bit
I assume you already did extrusion multipler calibration?

I don't know if you would call it calibration, but I managed to print a part and I adjusted it until the perimeters looked right (was 5 perimeter)
it's still kinda weird but I can accept it
Start over and do proper calibration. Otherwise you are likely to drive yourself crazy with issues that could have been prevented

thanks, ill save this!
cool that my last name is ellis too lol
I recommend trying to adjust your bed by adjusting the frame. I had a similar range as yours and I got it down to 0.245 now and everything sticks
