Rocket league not starting Chromebook
Hi,
I bought a Chromebook and realized that its really complicated playing games on it. I reed that you were able to play through Linux and I wanted to play rocket league. But Epic games didn't have support for Linux so I got tips about your launcher. I have now installed rocket league and your launcher and have come to a halt because the game won't start. First time I tried starting it it said that i needed to install wine so I did, and it froze than when I restarted you launcher I hit play and it wont start and I don't get any messages. I have reed your posts but I'm to new to this to understand everything. I tried follow your instructions on how to install the essentials for wine but when I paste it in the terminal it says something with not finding the pacman function or something like that. Than I restarted every thing agian and now the rocket league play buttin says that its playing for a fwe second and than it returns to the normal play button. Here is the log and the log file:

@Kaspian Kronberg You're missing Wine Dependencies. Run
sudo dpkg --add-architecture i386 && sudo apt update && sudo apt install -y wine64 wine32 libasound2-plugins:i386 libsdl2-2.0-0:i386 libdbus-1-3:i386 libsqlite3-0:i386
to install them
You'll also need GPU drivers, the command to install those should be sudo apt install libgl1-mesa-dri:i386 mesa-vulkan-drivers mesa-vulkan-drivers:i386

@CommandMC @NoboKik I fixed the launching problem by going to the WinePrefix folder under the Rocket League® (Settings) in Heroic games launcher and checked the EasyAntiCheat Runtime and the BattlEye AntiCheat Runtime boxes and unchecked the Auto Install/Update DXVK box on Prefix. Then I clicked the WINETRICKS. When the UI appeared I chose Select the default wineprefix. Then Install a Windows DLL or component. Then I chose dxvk1103. And then I got it running, but unfortunate with a black screen and only music. I reed an older post about it but couldn't replicate what they had done.

The log here indicates that you're also missing GPU drivers, although I have no idea how you'd install those in the container ChromeOS gives you

I will try it, thanks for letting me know :D

@NoboKik Your issue is with your locale (as we discussed in #Rocket League not working), your system in general is completely different to OPs
protestant-coral•2y ago
Ah ok
Will try to change it
What if i just change variable?

@NoboKik you might have better luck by installing linux directly instead of running it in a VM
I doubt a chromebook can run rocket league anyway tho, as in performance-wise

And that is why you stick to one thread for one person & issue
