Rocket league not launching on Fedora
I cannot launch Rocket league. And I also can't update heroic. I can't fetch anything from flathub. I get two errors with some nvidia packages from flatpak/flathub. I don't understand why I cannot launch the game. I repaired it, reinstalled it, but I still only get a black screen. It does launch somehow, but it stays in a black screen.

There is nothing about errors or crashes with the game in the logs.

This is while the game is "running".
@Linguin
Actually. Seems like it does slowly launch. I can hear mucis now. But all of my heroic games seem to be broken. They don't use my GPU or even recognize it.
- That's Heroic's log, not the game log
- Seems like you are indeed missing GPU drivers

There is an update for heroic, but I can't install it. Flatpak doesn't fetch anything from flathub. Two nvidia driver packages from flathub can't be installed, because some "further input" is required.
No game in heroic is really launching at all.
You still there?
Open up a terminal and run
flatpak update
, send in the output of that commandgenetic-orangeOP•2y ago
Well, it's in german.

@CommandMC
Ah, apparently Fedora broke this
There's also a proposed solution there, so I'd say start with that

I can't install rpm-ostree.
At least not with that command.
Well, what happens when you try?
I'm not on Fedora, so I can't help you unless you tell me what's going on in detail

Which version of Fedora are you using? If you're on 38, running
sudo dnf downgrade ostree-libs
should do the same thinggenetic-orangeOP•2y ago
What should that do? It wouldn't downgrade Flatpak, or would it?
And when would I know if a fix was pushed?
I am on Fedora 38.
You'll only downgrade
ostree
, which according to its description is a "Tool for managing bootable, immutable filesystem trees"
I'm sure a fix will be announced in the forum post I've linked, alternatively you can also watch this Flatpak issue: https://github.com/flatpak/flatpak/issues/5452genetic-orangeOP•2y ago
Also ostree-libs?
ostree-libs
are just the libraries bundled with ostree. Downgrading one will downgrade the other (not sure why they're downgrading -libs specifically)genetic-orangeOP•2y ago
Okay. That fixed it. While one of the nvidia package upgrades still kind of failed, everything else went fine. The game now runs normally again.
There was some issue with the GPG signature. It requires one, but it couldn't find any.
