Thoughts on Mawson Ossa tailoring?
Not expecting anyone to personally own anything from them, as they're in Sydney, but can I get some opinions on their house style? How would you describe it?
I don't have a ton of experience with nice suits. I like the lapels, colour palette and general styling but some of these look a bit slim.

In case anyone finds this thread in a search:
I went to their archive sale today, most of their jackets they had stocked were too small for me, but I tried a few of their overcoats. Good stuff, nice fabrics - lighter than traditional overcoats, much better for Sydney weather.
The suits in their archive did run short but I'm sure they would accomodate when doing MTM or bespoke.
I asked about custom overcoats, as that's what I'm interested in lately. Most of the bespoke ones are cut and made in Hong Kong. Mostly machine stitched but hand sewn is an option on the higher end. Overcoats are around $3k aud.
They also had a handful of Drake's items and a few pieces from a Japanese brand I don't recognise or remember (something like fushimi? or similar)
Can add a bit on my thoughts after having a jacket made with them and have a matching trouser coming along. The jacket was their "semi-bespoke" line and the trousers are MTM (I don't care for hand detailing on pants and I fit into their base model very well).
I'd say their cut is somewhat similar to what you see from the contemporary Asian tailors - a take on Neapolitan with the soft shoulder but with wider lapels and higher rise trousers. I wish my jacket was cut a bit wider and a touch longer (just like you pointed out on their archive stock) for a slouchier look. I admire Grant's fits and the cut on his personal jackets are much looser and longer. I did chat to him during his Perth trunkshow asking if they can make my next jacket slouchier like theirs and they're definitely accommodating to it. I wonder if he thinks many customers are too used to slim suits and he feels like they can't loosen up too much or customers will complain it doesn't fit and is too baggy.
I can add some thoughts on the trousers when I receive them. Picking them up when I'm back in Sydney.
On another note, the shirts that Mawson Ossa push are really interesting. Heavy weight linen shirting with what looks like jacketing weight linen fabric. Doesn't seem to crinkle and just looks so damn good. Very tempted but quite pricey - especially since that particular fabric incurs additional costs.
