Thrifting: how to tell the difference between a men's and women's suit jacket
Yes yes gender is stupid and people can wear what they want but I'm reminded about that one scene from The Office where people tease Michael Scott about wearing a "women's" jacket that he found in the dumpster. Is there a difference? How can you tell?

Buttons are one good indicator, men's buttons are usually on the right side. The cut is different in the chest as well.
Ahhhh thanks!
men's suit jackets are also usually labeled by the chest size (36, 38, 40, 42, etc) and S, R, or L depending on length of the jacket, whereas women's suit jackets are usually sized by women's numerical sizes (0, 2, 4, etc)
I found a jacket today that had a 40/42 sizing and the buttons on the left 🧐
that's unusual
got a pic?
hang on
Could have been a European women’s jacket right?
I’m not familiar with french or italian women’s sizing

Damn I can't find a good pic
This is the best pic I got (cropped my face)
What's going on with the collar there?
For a man, that jacket would probably be described as dandy. Whether it was intended for a man originally I can't tell you. It doesn't look to fit you in a super flattering way + it's not cut in a super flattering way, honestly.
Lol yeah there's a reason I didn't buy it
