well, actually drag in two ways I suppose. Click and drag for a selection box to copy, and then we can paste the selection and move it around or something

For the piston feature I would do 2 elements 1 element would be the piston casing and the other element would be the piston rod and what ever side you put the piston rod on the piston rod would extend from either of the four sides you put it on
