I finally got it working on steam deck by installing dotnet48 from winetricks. Dotnet48 might take a long time to install and if it suddenly begins sending you on a loop asking what would you like to do then just click cancel.
It runs using wine-GE-proton8-10 which I downloaded from the wine manager within Heroics Launcher. I was able to bypass the install size error by adding the installer as a non steam game outside of Heroics Launcher, then just moving it back into Home/Games/Heroic

Definitely I think its slowly lowering the mb/s And raising it back up again I wonder if i should keep a eye on the game to see how it's doing with downloading. I removed Hogwarts Legacy for this game so hopefully it works and is a fun game. Oof i guess it takes 61GBs Thats almost as big as Hogwarts Legacy i think It stopped again

I used these steps to get to the installer: 1. Use Wine-GE (I used latest) 2. Install .NET 48 using WINETRICKS (it will complain about wine64, you can ignore them) 3. Ensure "Auto Install/Update DXVK"/"VKD3D" are both enabled 4. Launch the game and make sure to accept the prompt that should open up in your web browser the first time however, I'm getting an "insufficient disk space" error (this is not the case)

Hi All, I installed Wine-GE (latest), installed .NET 48 with WINETRICKS, ensured DXVK & VKD3D are enabled, and launched the game like @exx did above. My web browser opened and I attempted to allow the prompt. It then gave me an error message that I could not log in and should try later. The web browser prompt no longer appears. I uninstalled everything and retried to no avail.

you cant change Z to D, otherwise simply wont work, you need to add D: pointing to /home/whateveruser/Games/Heroic if you are using the default instalation path and leave Z: to /

so TLDR: 1) install dotnet48 using winetricks -> select default prefix -> install a windows DLL or component 2) setting D: to wherever you wanna install ESO to by clicking on winecfg in game settings -> drives -> add then selecting a letter (defaults to D:) and pointing this to where you wanna install ESO by clicking browse near the bottom Don't change Z: since that breaks other stuff, just add another drive letter That should summarise install instructions Oh yeah use the latest wine-ge to get the latest wine fixes for the ESO launcher

yeah heroic itself shouldnt be run with it.. just enabling the option in the game is fine, heroic will add the wrapper when launching the game this log looks like it loaded up fine and your issue is something else unrelated to the 2.9 bug

I am running the latest wine, running game mode, installed dot net48 using wine tricks, changed the drive to a new d drive pointing to the location /home/username/Games/Heroic And also installed the latest heroic launcher, but also tried with the older version still getting the same error I also tried if proton works but nope Oh and one more thing when I was installing dotnet48 it said that it works mostly on 32 bit and that I am using a 64bit could that be the problem?

Ah ok 😅 When I ran the log file through bard I got this message Idk what it means though 😂 "The game log you provided shows that there are a number of errors that were encountered when launching the game. These errors are related to the Wine compatibility layer that is being used to run the game on Linux. The most common error is the wine:err:wineboot:process_run_key Error running cmd L"C:\windows\system32\winemenubuilder.exe -a -r" (126). This error is caused by the wineboot utility not being able to run the winemenubuilder.exe application. This can be due to a number of reasons, such as the application not being installed or the wineboot utility not being configured correctly. Another common error is the wine:err:hid:udev_bus_init UDEV monitor creation failed. This error is caused by the udev library not being able to create a monitor for the HID devices. This can be due to a number of reasons, such as the udev library not being installed or the device not being properly configured. The remaining errors in the game log are all related to the RtlGetCurrentProcessorNumberEx function. This function is used to get the current processor number, but it is not implemented in the Wine compatibility layer. This means that the game will not be able to determine the current processor number, which can cause a number of problems. In order to fix the errors in the game log, you will need to install the winemenubuilder.exe application and configure the wineboot utility correctly. I had the use dedicated GPU option turned on when I only had 1 GPU . Just had to turn it off for it to work

Hello! Did anyone amnage to figure out how to get past the "token error"? I installed ESO with Wine-GE-latest, donet48, and it installs and runs the launcher just fine (after creating D: drive with winetricks), but i can't get past that token error message. No matter how many times i restart it, it's not working. And it used to work, before i reinstalled my system, i only got that error once, then it worked. Now i can't get past it.
