Tyranny and gamescope not working well.
Hi!
This is driving me crazy so i finally thought i'd ask.
I'm playing tyranny, and i have a dual monitor setup.
I'd like to use gamescope with it as a wrapper so i can drag it to another monitor (for couch gaming), but it's just having the weirdest bugs. And dragging the "window" doesn't work without it.
-b -h 1440 -H 1440 -- produces this error:
Error launching game: Error: spawn gamemode ENOENT
at ChildProcess._handle.onexit (node:internal/child_process:283:19)
at onErrorNT (node:internal/child_process:476:16)
at process.processTicksAndRejections (node:internal/process/task_queues:82:21)
-f -h 1440 -- makes the game fullscreen but the mouse only moves in a smaller "square area" which - if it leaves, it goes to the second monitor
-b -h 1440 -- makes the game show up in a tiny borderless mode in the center of the screen with the "smaller square area" bug still present, the mouse escapes if going past those boundaries.
any "capital" -H -W or something like that argument, in any combination of resolutions makes the game either hang or give an error.
I use Arch with gnome. Heroic is installed from AUR.
Gamescope has been unusable with this game and my question is - can i do something about it? Is the game just like that? Or is it gamescope, heroic, something else?
Thanks for reading.

I'm not even sure gamescope would do that?
Do you want it to have a titlebar or smth?
Also if u have gnome just open the overview and drag it from there

It does do this, idk why but for fullscreen games, just dragging it from the overview snaps it back to the first monitor.
I wouldn't try to use it if I could just drag it normally.

That might happen for real full screen. Does the game have a borderless or executive fullscreen option in settings?

It does, but it also makes the cursor behave like in gamescope. And it doesn't let me drag it to the other monitor either. Snaps back to the first one.
Though, fiddling with it a bit more, using gamescope, if i press overview, and "select" the game window, the mouse seems to get full range over the game screen, except - it acts as if that little "square area" has been stretched to full screen, and the mouse movement slows down.
Not to mention the very low fps i get when running gamescope.
Though, this might have something to do with the game itself. I have gamescope on Overlord: Rising hell, and that works just fine, i can drag the borderless window wherever, and no FPS drops...

The low mouse sensitivity I often get with game scope too
With roblox that happened

Yeah. Well, for now, i'll leave it as is. Seems to be game engine related, and maybe even some gamescope bugs. Borderless window mode doesn't even let the cursor leave the window lol. And i doubt any of it is going to get fixed in the game by now. 😛
