Evening there. My current fits are mostly slightly athletic top + wider pants. I wear white new balances with everything and if those dont work the docs go on. I've not worn cargos since I was a kid and those were camo/GI cargos. I really like the cinched look on the cargo joggers, but when I show my friends these two pages most of them prefer the regular cargos.
(Link to what I'm wearing atm; this basically encapsulates the vibe I want. --> https://discord.com/channels/1116793467654381685/1135235582423994458)
What then, are cargo joggers good in? Why are regular cargos so universally loved? Which one is better for the streetwear-ish vibe I've got going
Edit: pants on last message

I prefer the regular cargos as well. If you want the cinched look, you may want to look for vintage/repo milsurp cargos. A lot of them have adjustable ankles to blouse over combat boots.
and they won't be tapered like the jogger cargos
Joggers
What do you pref over the joggers though compared to regular fit? Is the taper-silhouette just weird or
cargo joggers are kind of like those weird cole-haan sneaker/dress shoe hybrids. theyre trying to jam two different looks together in an incongruent way - it also doesn't help that they are extremely evocative of a specific kind of streetwear-obsessed kid from 2014
..I can't see reactions on PC. Huh.
Oh hey my budget for cargos is about 80-100 USD. Uniqlo will always be super cheap out here in Japan but I'm willing to look at other brands. checking out dickies right now..
I think you said you don't speak japanese but theres definitely used Orslow/EG on Japanese sites in that range with a little patience
but if you are early in your fashion journey its probably best to keep it cheap
you can always upgrade later
I'll look into those then yea
I believe Mercari, YahooJP, and Rakuten are the big used sites in japan
from my proxy knowledge
I use Mercari and YahooJP but good god damn are these websites a pain to navigate/look at. Japanese internet is something else dude
ya, ive proxied i know
Fit check on these (the green aren't cargos but they are similar)
What color if I usually black or white shirts?
And I always wear sneakers. Should I cuff these or hem them? And where on the shoe should they lay if so?
I personally like the green but I'm not totally sold on em, mostly because I don't usually wear green
I don't really like the off white so it's a battle between the tan and green
Personally, I think you should hem those, but with a full break. Then you can still cuff em if you like.
Also, I might check out Frizmworks for your budget: https://m.en.frizm.co.kr/product/list.html?cate_no=26
Homie that page just says bottom how did you know
Hey I like those bottoms but shipping em to Japan might be much
Got any opinions on the colors? They're both square neutral and I'm leaning towards green, but tan feels good too
You’ll probably get more mileage out of green, but I do think tan is very good as well
actually would suggest brown but been having a hard time trying to find those
LIke brown brown?
..Did I hem these too high
Probably still good with boots
WAHHH
I KNKEW IT AHHHH
With boots, pretty good..
Can you post a pic of the leg opening area flipped inside out?
Leg opening? Like cuffed?
I also need to learn how to pose.
We want to see the inside of the hem yes, to see if it can be let back out a bit
Oh I see. Let's see
It might be able to be let out, that's not the end of the pant, if you kinda massage the cuff you may be able to feel how much extra is in there
At least, I don't think that's the end of the hem, looks folded over
I dont think there's much extra, looks like only one fold. I'll take it to a uniqlo and see if they can let it out or return it and get me another one.
if your tailor is nearby you can ask them how much it can be let out, too
very possible you can extend the hem to a half break
Alright. But let's say this is a lost cause, it's hemmed too high but like how much? Next time really insist to a full break/half break?
thing is, the inseam required for a full break vs half break vs no break is different depending on the shoes you're wearing. Like a half break loafer inseam is longer than that of a half break boot
if I were in your cargos I'd take a measuring tape to the pair of pants that you consider to have the ideal inseam and specify that when requesting hems
that being said, I don't think this pair is a lost cause, a simple ~1" hem extend at your local tailor should get you what you want
Alright, I'll run to a tailor with these pants and just ask em to extend/let it out
For ref I only really wear sneakers and boots
good luck!
Unfortunately they said letting out the Hem would be impossible, there's just not enough fabric. They could also undo everything completely kind of like cut off jeans they do not recommend that they said
So I guess the question now is, if I just wear big shoes and boots with them will it be just fine, or should I go get a proper set with the full break and just hand these pants off to somebody of similar size
they look ok to me but they’re not gonna be the full break you want so maybe best to pass along and get a new pair
chalk it up to a learning experience
Yeah it's not the worst right, Uniqlo pants. Still! Mmmmm
if it’s cheap, you could have the tailor undo everything like they said and see how it looks/feels
For the lack of better words, why is accidentally hemming it into an ankle pants a problem? What makes it different from actual ankle pants?
I have green ankle fatigues from Uniqlo and the only thing I can think of is that it's particularly tapered and doesn't give off the floaty look walker described
nothing inherently wrong, just depends on how you want to wear them, if walker wants to wear these with lower sneakers the crop is a little high
and most importantly, they wanted full break in the first place
