first, verify that heroic has permissions to access that folder. it should by default, but double check

Just checked. It is allowed in Flatseal. Still errors. Attempted a folder path to /.steam/steam/userdata as well. Still nothing.

check to see if ~/.steam/steam/userdata in fact exists /.steam/steam/userdata would not be a folder that exists /home/fedorasilverblue/.steam/steam/userdata yes, but not /.steam/steam/userdata

Thanks. Okay. It clearly exists and the permission is in flatseal Also heroic keeps adding a /userdata to the path.

you should really just leave the Default Steam path as /home/fedorasilverblue/.var/app/com.valvesoftware.Steam/.steam/steam/ also, flatpak permissions are fine as ~/.var/app/com.valvesoftware.Steam covers anything nested below I just tested it on my end using Bazzite (Fedora Silverblue-ish). it can still add to Steam
