X Error of failed request: BadMatch on Bloons TD 6
I haven't had problems loading this game up until today, but I haven't played for a week. Full log is attached..
Sorry if this is a duplicate, I couldn't see anything in the search and Read Me First doesn't seem to cover it.

Looks like all my games have this

It looks like DXVK is trying to set a display mode (resolution and refresh rate) your monitor does not support.

I have my display set to 60 Hz because of heat concerns on this laptop. Is that what you mean?
And if it is, is there a way for me to solve it so that I don't have to set it back to 144 Hz?
Well, 144 Hz crashes with the same error anyway
I tried setting my Optimus Manager Qt to hybrid and that seemed to fix it

"nvidiaPrime": false, GRAPHICS: GPU0: CoffeeLake-H GT2 [UHD Graphics 630] VRAM: 256MB GPU1: GP106M [GeForce GTX 1060 Mobile] VRAM: 32MBthis is jumping out at me

yeah it's running on the wrong gpu

I had my Optimus Manager Qt set to Nvidia before, and that seemed to be causing the crash. Is there a reason it wouldn't have been using the GPU I had set? I admit I'm not too familiar with what it even does.
national-gold•2y ago
You didn’t enable the dedicated GPU in Heroic
wise-whiteOP•2y ago
Oh, I'll take a look at that
wise-whiteOP•2y ago
This mostly worked! I did experience a crash, do you have advice on how to mitigate it?
wise-whiteOP•2y ago
I don't know if I should create another thread for this, if so I will for sure
national-gold•2y ago
You still haven’t enabled your dGPU in Heroic
wise-whiteOP•2y ago
I feel very stupid, I did it for the game defaults but not for the game
wise-whiteOP•2y ago
Okay, that option has no been ticked, I'm on the Nvidia setting for the Optimus Manager, and I'm getting the same crash as the first time I posted
automatic-azure•2y ago
defintely a driver bug tho
shouldn't be crashing in the first place
wise-whiteOP•2y ago
Does that mean that there's not much I can do?
More information, this crash doesn't happen outside of Heroic with my Optimus Manager settings unchanged. Steam doesn't have issues, other flatpack games don't have issues, and native games do not have issues

I figured I'd do a fresh Prefix for it, but this is just hanging there.
A few things I've noted, I don't have eos-overlay installed, and when i go to install i get abort errors. The error
01c4:err:service:device_notify_proc failed to open RPC handle, error 1722
seems to be wine not loading my driver. some people have fixed this with a fresh prefix, some people have fixed it by just waiting. not sure what i need to do here

Another log from a Nile game that is running into issues (Two Point Hospital)
national-gold•2y ago
if this is a brand new prefix, verify that you installed the Wine dependencies

I do have that done, I'm arch based and i've enabled the multi-lib thing
All packages up to date and installed
wise-whiteOP•2y ago
This is now the log for bloons, it seems like it's not as big of an issue now
national-gold•2y ago
wine: could not load kernel32.dll, status c0000135this means your prefix is missing critical files, which is usually an indication that the wine deps are not installed (correctly)
wise-whiteOP•2y ago
Gotcha, I'll do some more looking
national-gold•2y ago
delete your prefix, run it again as-is
wise-whiteOP•2y ago
to clarify, you mean ~/.wine
correct?
national-gold•2y ago
no, it's in your log under winePrefix
wise-whiteOP•2y ago
running now
the last few times i've done this it has hung and not done anything for a very long time. i'm concerned it will do the same in this case, but i'll leave it for longer
wise-whiteOP•2y ago
Unless I'm mistaken, this is saying that the wine install was aborted? But the wine config window is still up
wise-whiteOP•2y ago
i finally just killed it, it was about an hour of doing nothing
To sum up:
It won't download the wine prefix if I have "Use dedicated graphics card" checked.
It won't load the wine prefix correctly if I am using my dedicated graphics card.
It may be down to a graphics card issue, it may not be. I don't get the failure to load on any other platform, only inside of Heroic.
Solutions? Wait for better drivers, use integrated settings in the meantime.
