telegram.error.TimedOut: Timed out
This is my first time using railway, I noticed a few other people complaining about this a few days ago, I don't see any solution posted, please help.
I have 0 issues running it locally.
I run dozens of regular telegram chatbots, using python telegram api official library, I say this because I see people being accused of shady bots
You can check here http://t.me/aiWizzard_bot is what I'm building is a regular telegram bot.

you probably landed on a railway host that has been banned by telegram
I don't see too many solutions to this besides you getting in contact with telegram or using a proxy
Can I change host?
I selected railway because it's simplicity adding a proxy is too much, at that point I rather keep using my regular VPS or a raspberry pi
Don't think having to reach Telegram for unblocking the IP you are giving me on a paid product is reasonable.
I understand if it was me who granted the block, but not the case
railway will not be reaching out to telegram for you, sorry
full disclosure, I do not work for railway
Thanks for your help then, but I'm not sure what you mean reaching out for me, I did nothing, I got assigned an IP that is blocked, clearly not by me.
Do you know how can I get a refund?
try creating another completely new project, railway has over 200 host, so you could land on a different one
@adriangalilea Problem may be due to private networking, after the bot is started, for the first few seconds it seems that it can't connect to public networks and throws a timeout error.
Try to disable private networking in your deployed service Settings-> Environment
Worked for me
I tried that had the same issue, thanks
Will try this just now
Trying to wrap my head around what I'm opting out, is private networking something that for the most part allows for if I spin several projects allow them to connect internally.
Kind of like a DMZ?
It is working, many thanks, I really wanted to use railway for my telegram bots π
Yes, that is correct. If you need it, you can delay the startup of the bot until the private netowrking is set up, or handle the timeout error and retry until it succeeds.
I see, very good indeed, thank you for your support, just renewed my subscription
This should be documented I believe
I don't know why I didn't think of that, now I feel stupid lol
private networking allows you to communicate internally with other services in the same project without having to expose the public address
Oh lol, no worries, glad that it is resolved, Iβm really pleased of how it works
Only problem is that after the initial response I reached out via email for a refund and cancelation
Im hosting on it my bot already and I just got a reply about the cancelation of my account and refund, just responded back asking to cancel the cancellation and refund π, hope I donβt get much downtime now that I finally managed to set it up and was running smooth π
