I think they still make cool stuff but they suffer from the same thing ALD does. Their items are vintage inspired heavily so why not just buy the vintage instead?

Elaborate on that. Do you think they didn't keep up with trends our was it a dip in quality?

Went in a bad direction and I heard they stopped paying their skaters after a short while. Lost a lot of what made it great

This look book is all over the place. I like this brand, and I own a lot of their pieces. But the quirky edgy preppy thing is cringe as fuck.

I feel like it’s kind of hard to see any of the clothes in this look book. Shadows, layering, props, poses etc, I feel like I’m kind of looking at nothing? I’ve noticed this in a lot of lookbooks recently, not sure if I’m missing the point of them

Lookbooks are meant to look cool

They've dropped their fall/winter collection and I have to say I'm not feeling it. I liked their spring summer collection this year but this one feels like a miss

Incredibly plain

First drop is an L. I agree it’s plain and uninspired.

Any particularly well recommended stuff from this brand over the last few seasons? I’ve never owned any but there’s a sample sale in my city (Chicago) coming up and I’m planning to drop by. Not really sure if it’s true samples or just overstock from older seasons but I dig the ALD adjacent look and figure it’s worth a look

I bought like 3 of their western tees last summer and they’re the best tees I’ve ever owned by far. Their stuff looks way better in person imo than online, fisherman knits are stellar as well.

Their sample sale in NY was overall terrible. Heavy on sweatpants quarter zips, nautical stuff. Keep expectations low.

Dang, disappointing but not totally surprising. Can I ask when that was? Just curious if it’s likely to be the same stock or some different stuff

Coming back to appreciate the recommendations from both palmanguy and youngblood, both of you were on the money. Most of the stock was picked over and less desirable stuff - mostly graphic tees or highlighter colors in sizes xs/small and very little of the interesting and wearable stuff like bottoms, knitwear, etc. That said, I did pick up one of the western tee shirts and quite like it - made in Portugal and thick cotton with just enough visual intrigue vs a plain tee.

Match denim shirt and pants?

I think it’d also look good with a t shirt under tucked into some flowy-er pantaloons

I don’t have much experience with the brand but recently got a good deal on their heavy chinos and I’m super impressed. Fabric is really nice and heavy (almost feels like moleskin) and the cut is generous.
