Desperate for chinos that fit
I'm 5'11" 165lbs and wearing 34x32 in these photos.
I don't have many issues when standing, it's when sitting. I think it would be too big if I went to 36 waist.
Is this because my thighs are too thicc? Because I need a "bigger seat" pant? Posture issue? Do I need high rise?
I appreciate any advice or recommendations!

Are they more slim than what you're used to? Nothing about the fit looks off to me (though the pictures aren't helping). Maybe something with a wider/more full cut would feel better?
It's a bit uncomfortable when sitting, kinda tight. Are those massive pocket flares normal? They don't feel normal to me.
I'm not sure if it's normal or not. If it is, I can live with it, but the tightness and pocket flares look excessive no?
I wouldn't worry about how your pocket slook when you're sitting down. Is it uncomfortable?
What brand are the chinos? Have you tried different brands or different sizing?
I'm a similar height and (was once) a similar weight, and I would run into kind of the same issue with brands that had too small of a rise. Was very uncomfortable to sit in
I would say slightly uncomfortable. The wrinkles (when standing after sitting) caused by the tightness are annoying though, idk if you can really get around that though.
So I should try to find something with larger rise? These are Target Goodfellow chinos, I've tried a few of their fits but I don't feel like it's very productive in the fitting room as they will all shrink after a wash.
I'm thinking about trying some Dickies and banana republic.
But my main question was if this looks normal? Or is it obviously too tight?
They look normal, if slim, but it sounds like they're too low rise to wear comfortably.
The rise isn't something that should be noticeably shrinking when you wash, either.
Ok gotcha, thanks!
I'll try to find some larger rise. Good to hear it doesn't look ridiculous, hard for me to tell honestly.
Agreed, definitely not too tight on the leg. Banana Republic has been kind to me on their traveler pants at least, I would recommend trying some in a fitting room
Edit: I read that as goodthreads
If you want a larger seat, try goodthreads. I found it too big for me, maybe you'd like it
agreed that nothing looks strange here. different fabrics hold wrinkles more than others
j crew's "classic" chinos are relaxed (you may have to size down) and have a higher rise. they are pricey when not on sale however. I found a pleated one on sale that I'm currently getting hemmed
